Silver and Gold

I know somebody, he just won (last year) half a million dollars from an offshore lottery, and when we got together just a month ago, I asked him if he is into stocks. He said that no, he was involved into something more 'glamorous', trading on gold/silver rates against the dollar- and 'glamorous' I told him, well, is a relative term.

Anyway, there is this site, Easy-Forex, and they allow their clientele to perform day-trading. As far as the gold is concerned, it is fairly easy, the price/ounce is the thing, like if the cost is 505.97, that translates to an ounce for 505.97 US dollars.

What about weighing systems(?)- the most prevalent would be TROY, and no, this has nothing to do with Helen. One TROY ounce is more or less 31.10g, while the AV ounce is just about 28.3g.

Trading with rates of gold/silver is accomplished akin to what's done with the curreinces, OTC that is- (over the counter), and to simplify, the barter is done directly between 2 entities, and a third entity is not involved. This kind of trading is termed as the 'non delivery' trading, as no physical buying/selling is concerned.

For Easy-Forex, the trading of these rates go from 1am to 530pm (GMT), Mondays through Fridays.

I mentioned day trading in the beginning of this article, this entity's day-trading permits the public to do currency rate deals on an everyday basis. Deals are renewed on an automatic mode, each night at ten in the evening. Let me give a concrete one: the investor is confident that the US$ WOULD RISE compared to Euros. He would then buy 10,000 US$, willing to put on the line the sum of 100 US$. The investor could benefit by buying 10,000 US$, then selling at Euros, at a profile of 1.0740 US$/Euro.

Now, about my friend, it surprised me a bit that he is not patronizing Easy-Forex for his gold/silver deals, and when he asked me why he should switch from his present platform/site to Easy-Forex, I simply mentioned the following:

I don't know about you, but as far as I am concerned, I am comfortable if I knew where the landbased headquarters of an online entity is located. There, so whether my friend would go to Easy-Forex or not, give it a thought. Gold and silver might turn out to be more than XAU and XAG symbols that you have memorized in junior high.
